This Week at Glimpse 📣
Glimpse's week at CES 2024 was a pivotal moment for us. From discussing cutting-edge tech with some of the world’s largest organizations, to forging key partnerships, to eating at the favorite Vegas steakhouse of Sinatra and Elvis with a big group of top agencies and firms, we got a tremendous amount out of our trip.
CES has long been a showcase for cutting-edge hardware. But our presence at the event signaled a new era in technology, one where AI will be the layer that enables innovation across the entire economy. We met a lot of robots–from pool cleaners to mobility devices to undersea scooters–but all those robots (and their human creators) need to understand how to engage human beings. That’s where Glimpse comes in.
The highlight of Glimpse's showcase was the introduction of our latest AI-powered features to marketing, brand, and content leaders who were hungry for ways to get closer to their customers. Attendees were treated to a first-hand experience of Glimpse's products and approach to integrating AI into their teams and processes.
One big takeaway: There’s already mounting frustration with the claims made by gen AI companies. Organizations are realizing they can’t simply adopt public tools or “set-it-and-forget-it” software. Executives from company after company told us that 2024 is time to move beyond gen AI as a tool to increase individual efficiency and time to begin using AI to develop insights from first-party data, to enhance customer understanding, and to shape strategy. For many of the companies that dropped by the Glimpse booth, our approach felt like a refreshing way forward.

Glimpse’s collaborative research with clients confirms what we heard anecdotally from marketing, innovation, and research leaders from some of the world’s largest companies at CES.
According to our landmark global study of AI adoption with our client, Hubspot, we found that orgs at early stages of gen AI adoption were seeing efficiency gains for individuals but that orgs at later stages were actually seeing ROI gains across the teams at the forefront of adoption.
One important lesson marketers can’t afford to ignore: Lots of orgs are experimenting with gen AI-based dynamic content creation but their campaigns aren’t really any more effective than they were before.
The explanation is that content personalization is only as useful as the quality of customer understanding–and any market segmentations based on that understanding. When it comes to gen AI, the emphasis should be on customer understanding first!
