Decoding GenZ Voting Patterns: What’s Influencing their Vote?
In the upcoming election, GenZ voters are leaning towards Kamala Harris. But what drives this decision in an era where the lines between social media and traditional news, celebrity and political figures, and personality and presidential fitness are blurred? We surveyed 199 GenZ voters across the US to uncover what truly drives their candidate choices.
Key Findings:
Social Media Dominance: With 43% of respondents using TikTok and 29% turning to Instagram for political information, short-form content about a candidate's demeanor, social media behavior, and viral moments dominate the conversation.
Vulnerability to Misinformation: GenZ audiences are particularly susceptible to false news, biased information, and peer influence, rather than focusing on individual policies and political alignment.
Policy vs. Personality: Many respondents focus heavily on personal characteristics such as honesty, trustworthiness, past actions, and scandals rather than specific policy positions.
Takeaways for Campaigns:
Understanding these dynamics offers valuable insights for engaging GenZ. It emphasizes the need for a blend of authenticity and strategic messaging to create meaningful connections. Read more on our blog.
